Terracotta at Nikoline and Svend
When Nikoline and Svend, owners of Spacon and X, were to renovate their newly acquired 'Kartoffelrækkehus' in Copenhagen from 1889, it was important for them to remain true to the house's architecture and original expression. But also to add their own mark to their new home. Many of the furniture in the house are their own designs from previous projects.
The elongated light terracotta tiles on the house's ground floor are from our Italian supplier south of Naples, who for decades has made these classic clay tiles. The tiles fit perfectly with the older simple 'kartoffelrækkehus', and create a connection between the house's yellow brick facade and the house's interior.
